Six Flags Over Texas is an extremely popular Texas attraction that just so happens to be located in Arlington. This massive amusement park is home to thrilling rides, live entertainment and shopping options. With over 100 different attractions found at Six Flags Over Texas, this Arlington theme park is perfect for everyone, no matter if you’d like to spend the day eating through the park’s restaurants and fair food or on the park’s 13 hair-raising roller coasters.

Dallas Cowboys fans know that the AT&T Stadium is where the magic happens. If you’re lucky enough to experience AT&T Stadium on game day, expect it to be filled with rowdy and excited fans of the NFL team. However the stadium, located in Arlington, is a great place to visit even when the Cowboys aren’t on the field. The stadium itself is the largest dome structure in the entire world. Visitors can take a tour through the stadium, where you can go on the field, look in the locker rooms and browse the art gallery, which has 56 unique art pieces. Take either a self-guided tour, a guided art tour or a VIP guided tour.

Baseball fans should not miss out on touring Globe Life Park, a baseball facility that is home to the Texas Rangers. This 270-acre ballpark facility hosts major league baseball games and was also the venue for two World Series Championships. You don’t even have to go inside the complex to enjoy the area, since there are both parks and open space areas around the stadium. However public tours are available of the stadium, where guests can view the batting cages, press box, dugouts and other behind-the-scenes spots.

Arlington isn’t just home to iconic NFL and MLB staples; it’s also home to the International Bowling Campus. Bowling fanatics must visit the International Bowling Museum & Hall of Fame. The incredible collection found at the museum spans the 5,000-year history of the game of bowling, which was first played by ancient Egyptians. The Hall of Fame here features iconic bowlers through vintage photos and film clips. You can even enjoy a game of bowling here too.

Arlington is home to the University of Texas Arlington (UTA). The university is a great place to visit, since its home to a planetarium, a huge events arena, and an art gallery. The events arena, known as College Park Center, hosts basketball and volleyball games as well as lectures, graduations and concerts. If you’re visiting campus during a time an event isn’t occurring, you can still explore the art gallery and planetarium. The planetarium is open to the public for stargazing and even private events. Alternatively, the art gallery, known as Studio Art Center and Gallery, is not only a place where you can see finished pieces but also catch a glimpse of students creating art too from glass blowing to painting.

If you’re looking for a great picnic spot or a place to walk, run or ride your bike in Arlington, then River Legacy Park is the place to visit. This 1,031-acre park has over 10 miles of biking and hiking trails and is also home to a number of animals species and plant life. River Legacy Park isn’t just a natural oasis; a science center with aquariums and terrariums is also found here.
