Destiny 2's Solstice event returns this year with a new armor set and refreshed weapons. This year's Solstice has made some major changes to the armor grind, requiring you to complete event bounties to forge new armor pieces. Farming for armor is a little tougher than in previous years, but the weapon chase is better than ever.

If you're looking for high-stat armor or some strong endgame weapons, Solstice is an event you'll want to play this year. In this guide, we go over how Solstice works, how to forge Solstice armor, where you can find Silver Leaves, and showcase some of the rewards you can earn this year.
What Is Solstice?
Solstice is Destiny 2's summer event that runs from August 6 to August 27. Guardians can fight against enemies of humanity in the Bonfire Bash activity, a three-player activity that awards Solstice-themed weapons, crafting currencies, and this year's new Solstice armor. Complete Bonfire Bashes, purchase armor bounties, forge a Solstice armor set, and repeat to help perfect your builds.
For most players, Solstice is a good source of high-stat armor and endgame-viable weapons. The weapons this year all received a major perk refresh and are now far stronger than in previous years, rivaling raid and dungeon loot. Farming for armor is slower in 2024 than in previous years, but this is a solid high-stat armor source if you don't own any DLCs or dislike focusing HELM Engrams. As far as loot goes, this is an event you won't want to miss.
Using The Solstice Forge
The single largest change to Solstice this year is the acquisition of the armor itself. Solstice armor is now crafted at the Solstice Forge, an item you receive from Eva Levante at the start of the event. You can find the forge in the "Quests" tab. So long as you have a Solstice Forge, activity clears will drop Silver Leaves. This is a currency you'll need to forge your armor.
Inspecting the item will bring up a grid of bounties you can purchase. Each row is tied to a certain armor piece: helmet, arms, chest, boots, and class item. Boots and class items are on the second page. Purchasing a bounty locks the rest of the options in that row until you complete the bounty. In other words, you can only have one bounty per armor type. Each bounty costs Silver Leaves. Tougher bounties cost more leaves.
If your bounty options are lacking, you can reroll them for the cost of five Silver Leaves.
Bounty | Silver Leaf Cost | Alloy Payout |
---|---|---|
Elemental Kills | 1 | 5 |
Subclass Abilities | 2 | 15 |
Generate Orbs | 2 | 15 |
NF High Score | 5 | 50 |
GM Nightfall Clear | 5 | 50 |
Raid Encounter Clears | 5 | 50 |
Dungeon Encounter Clears | 5 | 50 |
Completing a bounty will award Armor Alloy, a currency used to forge armor pieces. The bounty you complete determines what type of alloy you get. Helmet bounties give Helmet Alloy, chest bounties grant Chest Alloys, etc. You need 100 alloys of a certain type to forge an armor piece. The forge can hold up to 500 alloys of each type, so don't worry if you go over 100.
Once you have enough alloy, select the "Forging an Ingot" bounty and complete a Bonfire Bash. When you're done, turn in the bounty to claim your new piece of Solstice armor. You can further improve your armor with Incandescent Ingots by completing Eva's "Celebrating Solstice" quest, which will make your armor emit a bright white glow.
Elemental variants are available in the Eververse store for Bright Dust. The armor emits an elemental glow matching your subclass. Prismatic users will glow based on their chosen Super instead.
Bonfire Bash
Bonfire Bash hasn't changed much this year. After you speak with Eva Levante, you can start the activity at any time from the Tower map. Your goal in Bonfire Bash is to light a bonfire by throwing Ignition Charges onto a pyre. These charges drop from Ignition Carriers, miniboss units that spawn in certain areas of the European Aerial Zone (EAZ for short).
Ignition Carriers are marked as diamond icons on your HUD. Head to the area, clear the adds to spawn the miniboss, and then kill the Ignition Carrier.

Ignition Carriers will drop three orbs you can use to light the pyre. Pick them up and throw them towards the pyre at the center of the map. This will stoke the flame. Landing ten orbs will trigger a Taken Interference event. You must kill three Taken miniboss units and clear Blights to resume the activity.
The activity will end with a Taken boss fight, which will startafter the timer expires or your team dunks 30 orbs—whichever happens first. There aren't any mechanics to go over here. Grab your strongest Heavy weapon and melt the boss as fast as you can. When you're done, head back to the pyre to claim your loot. Be sure to pick up a new set of armor bounties before you start again.

Here's everything you need to know about Overthrowing in Destiny 2
Earning Silver Leaves

Silver Leaves drop from virtually every activity in Destiny 2. Bonfire Bash, Public Events, Legend Lost Sectors, Overthrow (T4 clears), and ritual content all drop leaves. From our limited testing, most activities drop eight leaves when completed. Shorter activities drop four leaves.
The fastest Silver Leaf farm seems to be Public Events. Most events only take a couple of minutes to complete and award four leaves on a Heroic clear. Some good destinations for Public Events include the EDZ, Nessus, and the Cosmodrome.
Solstice Event Card

Solstice has 16 event challenges you can complete through the Solstice Event Card. You'll gain access to this partway through Eva's onboarding quest for the event. Solstice challenges can be completed to earn the Flamekeeper title. Event Tickets are used to redeem rewards from the premium Event Card. The challenges and title itself do not require Event Card ownership.

Crowning Duologue can now roll with Bait and Switch, Compass Rose has Slideshot and Opening Shot, and Something New rolls with many ability-centric perks.
